Black & White Dots

Hello everyone! I'm officially back today with a very simple mani that's kind of a dedication to my dog who was put down recently. She was a black and white dog so I thought I would do a dotticure in the same colours. Dotticures are so easy to do, I use dotting tools I got off ebay for about three dollars, but you can even use bobby pins or anything with a rounded end.

The colours I used are of course my new favourite black and whites: Black Out and White On by Sally Hansen.

(Side note: I can't remember if I've mentioned it before, but I've been using this hand position lately instead of any other because it's my favourite. I think it suits my hands and nails more than the one I used to use and lately I just haven't liked any photos with the other position, so I hope everyone likes this one, because it's here to stay!)

That's pretty much it for today. This mani has definitely kick started my inspiration again and I'm really happy about it. Losing my dog quite suddenly was one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through and for so long I just didn't want to do anything nice for myself. I also worked a lot more than usual in the fortnight that it all happened so I was twice as distracted from everything else. But I'm back and no matter how many more times I might disappear I'll always come back because in the end I love doing my nails and showing everybody what I've created. So thanks for your patience and understanding!

Update

Hi everybody, I'm very sorry to those of you who don't follow me on Instagram or Facebook as you wouldn't have seen my updates recently. I know I've been very inactive lately, it's been about two weeks since I last painted my own nails and the reason for all of this is because my dog became very sick a week and a half ago and I put all my time and energy into looking after her. Unfortunately, this past Monday we had to put her to sleep, so you can understand why I haven't been too focused on my nails.

I'm starting to get motivation back to paint my nails again but until then, I just need some time. I'm very uninspired and apathetic lately but I have been looking for new ideas and designs to create so I guess that's a start. I just wanted to post this here to let everyone know where I've been in the hopes that you can forgive me for being quite slack!

Thank you.

Dots and Watermarbling

I think I've titled a previous post very similar to this, but I can't think of what else to call this one because they're very much alike. Anyway, I quickly did this mani today because I was feeling creative and hadn't done watermarbling for a while so I was craving to do one!

The purple is Manic Panic - Australis (which I picked up from K-Mart for two dollars last week!) and the green is Misty Jade - Rimmel. The white is my new favourite white, White On - Sally Hansen.

(Please ignore my bad cuticle area on my middle finger, I used PVA as a base and it started to pull away when I moisturised)

But I'm very happy with this mani, it's cute and bright and I love doing designs like this! I hope everybody has a lovely weekend, I'll be back with a mani on Sunday or Monday.

Summer Gradient

Quick post today on another gradient I did this weekend. I would have done this mani earlier but I was a bit sick during the week so I had to postpone doing it till now. As you may know, I love doing gradients and this is a different take on a criss cross gradient I did a while ago, just with opposite accent nails.

The white base is White On - Sally Hansen and the colours I used are Orange Fizz, Daiquiri and Grapetini all by Savvy.

Also, for anybody interested I now have a Facebook page, you can find me here.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!
